Nicki on Nicki:
'I love seeing people develop and progress because of something I have said or done and I have always had a desire to run my own company so launching Congruent Performance is a dream come true for me. From a young age I helped at a local primary school and helped neighbours children with their homework. After studying business studies at university I joined Mars Confectionery to gain practical business experience and achieved this by undertaking roles across the whole supply pipeline, Marketing and Trade Marketing. It wasn’t until I started working within the Sales Training Team that I knew I had found what I had been looking for. I became a learning junkie and became a certified Master Practitioner in NLP. I became responsible for a number of areas and initiatives within the UK Sales Division including Presentation Skills, Team Development Training, the training requirements of our own Sales Training Team, the rollout and support of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People programme and the design and launch of a highly successful change programme to implement a Coaching Culture. Following time out to have children (a role with many interesting challenges and rewards!) I was inspired me to take my business and training passion one step further hence launching Congruent Performance. What a great decision! I can now focus on the things I’m most passionate about - management and team development. Seeing the results from something I have done is what really inspires me… and I’m still learning! My biggest learning since starting this venture is that it doesn't seem to matter what the nature of the business is, the people are all very similar, all are motivated by what’s important to them, all face similar issues and frustrations and all benefit from what we do! How rewarding do you think that is?'
Jenny on Jenny:
''With 11 years employment at Masterfoods I have been fortunate to have a background within a corporate environment, especially a background with so much variety! Growing up near the chocolate factory I had decided from a very early age that I would eventually work there and despite fierce competition that’s exactly what I did! Getting a job at Mars felt like winning the golden ticket and a dream coming true! My career has been very varied and exciting providing me with experience in many aspects of working within an FMCG organisation. From one end of the pipeline planning production, through to the sharp end dealing with major customers, I worked both nationally and on a European level. I became the training manager for the UK Customer Service departments and supported the transition of operations from two geographical sites to one. This first hand experience of large scale change upon both the business operations and its people had a profound impact on my career. I decided that I wanted to be a professional trainer – that I would further develop my skills such that I could support both individuals and teams in implementing and leading change with successful outcomes. This decision lead me to training within the Sales Division, alongside Nicki. I became a licensed facilitator of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and supported her large scale roll out of this programme to the UK Salesforce. I gained my Master Practitioner certificate in NLP and my Mobile Team Challenge certification, and utilized these in the implementation and roll out of a Coaching Culture across the UK Sales Division. I decided to compliment this by studying for a degree in Psychology, and then, with 7 years training and development experience and a developing knowledge of psychology I decided that I wasn't being challenged enough! Hence Congruent Performance was born (and, I hasten to add, unlike Nicki it is the only thing I have given birth to!)'
